Our Signature Stripe Balloon Takes Flight Near Mount Fuji
The magnificent landmark makes for a breath-taking backdrop, as our Signature Stripe balloon takes flight for the third time in Japan.
It seems to us fairly self-explanatory why Mount Fuji has been the subject of fascination by some of the most renowned artists – the likes of Hokusai and Hiroshige – of all time. It’s undeniable beauty, of course. One of the most iconic sights in Japan, Mount Fuji has become so recognisable, even to those who have never visited it, that its snow-capped peak has become synonymous with the country itself.
This is, of course, not the first time that the balloon has taken flight. As part of our ongoing project, over the years it has been launched in both the UK and across the pond in Las Vegas. There, the stark beauty of the Mojave Desert served as an awe-inspiring and tranquil stage to set the scene.
Measuring over 22 metres in height (that’s about two and a half times the length of a red London bus, by the way), the Paul Smith Signature Stripe balloon was imagined after the pandemic as a concrete symbol of hope and optimism as the world was opening up again.
