So, let's try a little tip* to get us started.
To go back a page in Internet Explorer, just hit the Backspace key.
Note: this doesn't work if the cursor (or 'focus') is in a form field - the bits where you fill in information or choose an option - or in something special like a Flash movie or video window. Just click in pure-HTML part of the window, like on plain text.

*Metanote: clearly there will be those of you - like Edward, for example - who will find many of these tips beneath you or obvious or just too, well, spelt-out. But let me assure you that I have a lifetime of relations for whom it is impossible to spell things out too clearly. If you don't believe me, I will happily donate a few.
